Steinfrau

Material:
Sandstone. A very regular-grained German Sandstone. Relatively straightforward to carve. Most of the work on this piece was done in public during a recent exhibition. On several occasions people asked, almost shocked, that I had no clay or plaster model to work from, but worked directly into the stone. Spontaneous creativity of this kind in Stone is considered almost revolutionary here in Germany.
